Coconut is one of the healthiest foods on this planet.
I am on a ultra high-fat, restricted (adequate) protein, zero sugar/carbos Paleo-style diet and it has improved my health immensely. The whole "balanced" diet fad is a total nonsense. If you are interested in details, read up on Ron Rosedale, MD, and his research.

If you crave coconut and like the taste, binge on it! (Calories from fats don't matter so long as you don't eat sugars/carbos and restrict protein per Rosedale, because any spike in blood glucose will cause insulin release and that makes us store fat, not the amount of calories).
I would only make sure it is organic coconut oil (non-organic is filled with chemicals they use to make more of it on the cheap at the cost of people's health). Other than that, you can;t g wrong on coconut. It repairs the gut and the brain, and the skin. Wonder food!
