"We're fools as human beings if we assume to say, 'God has chosen not to heal people any more'. That is human logic based upon the evidence of the eyes and doctrine built up extra-biblically- not upon scriptural foundations."
illys / elisah, I've never said God has chosen not to heal people anymore. I also don't know anyone personally that has said this.
"Miraculous healings took place both in the old testament and the new testament. There are similarities in the operation of the Holy Spirit in both eras."
True!
"Vertek, there are no shortage of people who have taken a kind act and turned it into a roadside puppetshow of absolute horror."
You are right, there is no shortage, and the supply is growing daily! The sad thing also is that there is no shortage of people supporting these puppetshows of absolute horrors. But there is a huge shortage of people speaking out against them.
"It's a little sad to see so much argument about doctrine. Doctrine is head knowledge, but an understanding of the Spirit comes out of the point where the rubber meets the road, and a person takes action."
True doctrine is essential to knowing Christ, otherwise we can say Christ is the genie in a bottle, or the Holy Spirit is like a genie in a bottle as this girl below says. Many think that is all He is and whose to say otherwise if doctrine does not matter.
"I have not found one single denomination of a church that has got every aspect of a life of faith 100% Right, True, and Infallible"
I haven't either. But I've also found some demoninations to be flat not christian at all, teaching another Jesus, another gospel.
"However, I've been present for and personally experienced healing as a result of congregational prayer while my life was on the line during open-chest surgery in the hospital, due to cancer issues. It happens, it's real, get your thumb out of your nostril, It's not meant to go that far up there."
That is wonderful! I believe in prayer and healing, very much so! I've never said anything contrary to that. I didn't know I had my thumb that far up in my nostril. That would hurt probably! :)
"And Vertek, I've seen some amazing posts from you. Thank you for your intelligence and passion for Christ, that is irreplaceable."
You remind me of someone I know with that whole page of criticisms and then a sweet compliment thrown in there at the end. lol But thank you! I claim the grace of God for any good I could possibly ever do. Praise to Him for everything, for nothing good could ever be done apart from Him!
