Re: Resistant Trichomoniasis

Protozoa in general terms are too hardy for weaker therapies - Flagyl is an old school drug that does not have much reported success and has quite nasty side effects. Tini is a newer version that has some reported success.

It is quite possible that you have a strain that is resistant to the metro/tini drugs but other drugs may kill it without a problem - Paromomycin is usually prescribed alongside with other drugs such as Tini - Nitazoxanide is a newer drug that has shown effectiveness in some protozoa. Usually cocktails of drugs are much more effective than single abx.

Antibiotic sensitivity is different from resistance and you generally cannot proclaim an organism resistant unless all prescriptions have been shown ineffective. Abx resistance shows clear signs in which the drug will show effectiveness within a short time frame then a 180 degree turn is shown 3 to 4 days later. If you see now improvement within a 7-10 day window then the organisms are not sensitive to the substance introduced. The same holds true for herbal abx.

Studies have shown that use of certain herbs and spices along with abx has a greater chance of success.

If garlic was effective then you might want to look at some of the products that contain super concentrates of allicin which are typically more expensive. Many positive reports of it killing off MRSA which is an abx organism. Nature usually has answers than man cannot provide.

I have compiled a comprehensive list of herbs that are specific to killing off difficult organisms and most of these are not found in the typical parasite formulas. If needed please PM me.
