albendazone doesn't kill worms on contact. it works by damaging their ability to use and create ATP, thus first creating immobility and then eventually death. So it could be that the symptoms return after a few days of going off the drugs because the monsters "woke" up and recovered from the effects of the drug. That's why it is important to keep throwing the stuff at them persistently so the damage adds up until they die.

so i think you should not give up , hippie! be persistent with the cycles (and breaks in between)!
