Re: How to Lose Friends on Social Media: Question Authority
This is a pet peeve .....I feel your pain, having asked similar questions myself and not ever getting satisfactory answers. Gradually I've learned some of the "why?", but before going into that here is the link you want to click on in order to get to this particular story -
http://www.activistpost.com/2015/01/how-to-lose-friends-on-social-media.html - as you can see this link is to somewhere other than WRH's site, so the folks at WRH created an alias to this link and named this alias " how to lose friends on social media ..." and to the uninitiated the aliased link may not look like a typical url link and goes unchecked.
As to "why?" among the reasons is that erroneous and or errant web surfing makes money for various entities, beginning with ISPs and ending with web sites increasingly patterning their pages after the model of television, which is to say, pushing tabloid-like content ....the kind of entities that do not really care if you ever land at the page / url you want to get to in order to read the info or story that came with a link or alias that lured your interest in the first place .... and WRH is no exception, I can hear their excuse lip service as I type " just trying to make a living .... putting food on the table .... gotta have advertising .... cost of doing business, yada yada yada." My pain in this -I use cellular internet service - .... translation - am more sensitive to links/pages that waste ... burn my monthly data quota because of having to wade through endless crap pics , vids , adverts and other superfluous content on the way to finding the story that lured me into clicking the bleepin link to begin with .... se la vi , happy surfing :)
