But I have had my share of insomnia for many years, adrenal related in my case. What fixed it was loads of salt, lately potassium, and finally getting my magnesium levels up to par. Vit C, B, also important for the adrenals. All along with iodine.
After giving birth, my adrenals was in a high alert state for a long time. My sons also had inherited my magnesium deficiency at that time, they were no good sleepers until 2-3 years of age.
This may contribute to the sleep deprivation of yours. As the birth experience for some women get you into a "high" and the fact of being responsible for such a precious being make us too alert at all times.
