As to when it gets better ... everyone is different. The first few days are the toughest, but then the hunger goes away and the body begins to adjust to the fast. Hang in there - you will be SO glad you did!
Remember too that the symptoms you are having are NOT because you aren't eating!! The symptoms are from a rapid release of toxins into the body as you are beginning to detoxify. Food will not help you. It's important to know this, otherwise you may eat, and although you will feel better, it will utterly defeat the purpose of the fast in the first place.
