Did you cut it apart? If you still have it, and want to know what it is, take it apart...get a Sharp knife and remove the clear "wrapping" (biofilm, I think) and cut the two bulbus things in half, long-wise...or at least one of them. Also take note of what is connecting them...is it like animal tissue? Rope? Twisted? Different color? Also look for "eyes" either red, or dark colored, situated on or toward the ends. Also note the characteristics of the ends...do they look broken, ripped...are they similar to the rest of the wrapping or different? Note any protuberances, appendages, etc.
Do not touch it with your bare hands (as if you would) and do your dissection on a disposable plate on top of a plastic bag so you can just wrap the whole thing up and throw away the sealed package. Inside there might be: multiple tiny eggs, or a worm, or...? Whatever it is, it's likely dead, but don't assume it is dead, treat it like hazmat.
