Re: I'm a Newbie to MC need some answers.... THANKS!

Do it for the cleansing and health benefits, and the weightloss will take care of itself. I recommend you put the scale away while you're fasting. It can be a distraction, and sometimes the body is so intensely working that you won't lose weight - those days can be discouraging. But the long-term health benefits will far outweigh the weight you might lose!

You need to use the time while on the Master-Cleanse changing your thinking about food - how much and what to eat. The only way any kind of weightloss will be long-term is if old habits are broken and changed long-term. (I speak, sadly, from experience here.)

As to water, you need to drink an equal amount of it to the lemonade (or more, if possible). Water will be your daily ally in cleansing the toxins that your body is releasing. Often water can ward off a bad detox symptom (or at least make it bearable). I chew ice occasionally while fasting (it's kinda rough on my already sensitive teeth) since it gives me the illusion of chewing food. hehe

While you aren't fasting you should be drinking 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water every single day! Exercise is good on the Master-Cleanse also, but if you aren't used to exercising, then go slowly - walk and enjoy nature. Take it easy while fasting when you can. Naps and warm baths are good therapy and help the body along in the healing/cleansing process.

Whatever you do, enjoy the fast. It will be over before you know it and there food will be again. Then the real struggle actually begins (for me, it's WAY easier to fast than to keep eating right ... but I'm learning)! God bless and fast on!
