This is the fourth time that I have made my sauerkraut mixture and this time it was a success. I filled up the jar 3/4 full and there was enough liquid that covered the cabbage well. The problem is that when I opened up the container today (day 2) to release the gas there was so much of it that the liquid spilled out of the jar resulting in me losing alot of it.
Now there is no liquid that is above the cabbage, it is however inline with the cabbage but from what I read the cabbage should be below the liquid. Would this result in the cabbage / sauerkraut being spoilt over time. I normally let it ferment 5 to 7 days and then eat it.
