thanks for this correction. I think my confusion was after reading that L-Tryptophan is regarded by some to be more effectively absorbed as a supplement than 5HTP as it is the natural amino within our food supply. I have definitely encountered the opinion that boosting the blood's supply of L-Tryptophan is a more effective method of boosting serotonin than boosting the blood with 5HTP.

I am not sure why L-Tryptophan on an empty stomach before bed has been so much more effective for a handful of depressed friends than 5HTP throughout the day.

My guess is that 5HTP is simply not absorbed as well for some people.

Apologies to all who read this post and have integrated my mistake as knowledge..

The point I was making is that in my experience and many friends who I have advised, L-Tryptophan works BETTER.
