3 years with no relief
Hi,
I am new at this forum and from reading all the threads about
parasites I would like to hear your opinion on my situation which the doctors cannot diagnose me with ANYTHING. according to them I am in perfect health.
please take the time to read my (long) story hopefully that someone can point me to the right direction.
It all started in January 2012
I had a normal fever of 38c. It felt like a normal flu. The doctor told me it was the flu. He prescribed me a pill for the pain and the fever. Then I came back home and took one pill before sleeping. All night long I had hallucinations and couldn't sleep well. The next morning I woke up and took another pill and 20 minutes later I felt an intense pain in my stomach and I then lost consciousness for one minute or so.
My wife called for an ambulance and the medic told her that the pill that I took was a pill that he took when he had a car accident and it was a strong pain killer. I was not admitted to the hospital.
I went to a local clinic that same day and they did tests... blood work and an ultrasound and everything checked out fine.
I have had strong upper abdominal pain since that day.
I went to the ER two days later because I couldn't stand the pain and I saw a neurologist. She told me that the pill I took was very strong and it probably gave me an ulcer. Then she prescribed an antacid and I took 20 milligrams twice a day and she told me that "it should work right away and to take it every day for a month and if when you stop taking it after a month the pain returns then you should see a GI specialist".
The antacid helped me right away. One week after I started taking the pill I visited South Korea. In Korea I tried all the food even uncooked food like raw pork. But still there was no pain while I was in Korea.
Then I came back from Korea and everything was fine with no pain. After one month of taking the antacid I stopped taking it and the pain came back. Then I went to a GI doctor and he prescribed me another antacid and made an appointment for an endoscopy. The antacid that he prescribed didn't work. And the endoscopy didn't show anything.
He continued to prescribe me all different types of antacids at different dosages for 7 months and nothing helped. I even took the originally prescribed antacid that was given to me before going to Korea and that did not help.
So I stopped with the antacids after taking every pill possible for six or seven months and started taking different tests through the GI specialist. I did another endoscopy, a colonoscopy, an MRI, three CTs, an ultrasound and x-rays and everything was "normal".
March 2013 I sought treatment with a homeopathic practitioner. That did not work either. Then three or four months later I sought treatment with a naturopath. The naturopath treated me with many different herbs mainly for ulcers. None of this worked. Then I tried to look for another GI specialist. I went to four different specialists and there was no answer from them either. One of them suggested that it might be in my head. Stomach cancer was ruled out, pancreatic cancer as ruled out. Liver cancer was ruled out.
September 2013 I went to a functional medicine doctor. They took a stool sample which was sent to Europe for analysis. They checked for
food allergies ,
parasites and bacteria. He found that my transgluteminase levels were high and he pointed out that it was the beginning of celiac disease and that I might be sensitive to gluten. No
parasites or bacteria were found in the stool sample. So I started a gluten free diet and supplements of glutamine. I also started taking probiotics at this time. I felt slightly better... less tired... But the pain was the same. This functional medicine doctor told me to take the antacids again to see if there was any difference. There was no difference in the pain.
In February 2014 I sought treatment with Roni Enten ND who is associated with Dr. Berger in the US. They took a CSA a comprehensive stool test analysis, Adrenal fatigue test, an OAT - an organic acid test and a metal toxicity test with three provocative agents (anal pills to not upset the stomach) .the provocative agents were DMSA, DMPS and EDTA. In the OAT they found many bacteria markers and an elevated Arabinose. This is a marker for Candida. Adrenal fatigue test showed very low Adrenal function And the CSA test showed no special findings. The metal toxicity showed no special findings.
We sent out the toxicity tests and while we waited for the results they put me on a course of diflucan 100mg a day. I took it for four days and I stopped because I was feeling very ill.
After the test results came back they treated me for the gut bacteria with:
Rifaximin 1200mg a day for two weeks. I didn't get any relief from the Rifaximin. After the Rifaximin, at the end of June, I started with nystatin 1 million units twice a day for one month, no change in pain.
Seen another ND who is convinced that I have H pylori even though 4 breath tests + stool antigen and biopsy came back negative. He put me on different herbs such as: Barberis Vulgaris, Scutellaria Baiclensis, Cinnamomum Verum , Syzygium Aromaticum, Filipendula Ulmaria, Coptis Chineisis, Boswellia Serrata, Inula Helenium .
And herbs for Candida such as: Galium Aparine, Mentha Piperita, Perilla frutescens, Tabebuia impetiginosa, Syzygium aromaticum, Taraxacum officinalis, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Silybum Marianum, Sophora flavescens- Ku Shen.
This is the first time in nearly 3 years that I felt an improvement with my pain and brain fog (still under a lot of pain but any improvement is welcome), I am not sure I have H pylori but I do know that several herbs that he gave me especially Barberis is supposed to treat parasites along with other herbs from the above list.
Is it possibe that I have undiagnosed parasites even with sending the stool tests to great planes labratory??
is there another treatment for parasites???
