Re: Questions about water intake
I used to follow a lot these rules regarding meals and such things.. but I honestly don't follow it much these days. hehe. I think it is not good to drink a ton of water during meals, but as a lot of the food we eat, especially veggies and fruits are packed with water, it doesn't seem like being so strict about this really seems all that logical.. at least to me. the time that I was striclty following the no water with food guideline was when I was having some digestive problesm and such. this definitely helped the condition.. but the condition is long gone now. :)
you can alkalize water buy buying mineralizing drops. there are a few great brands out there. one of them is called 'alkalife' and was created by a japanese scientist who wrote a brilliant bookcalled 'reverse aging' which is filled with data about how acidosis is not just a factor in illness, disease, low energy levels, mood levels and
Depression but also plays a crucial role in the aging process itself. his name is dr. sang whang

and the drops he makes can be found at many health food stores or ordered online:

there is another product called 'spring of life" made by a very well respected compnay called 'garden of life'.
you simply add a few drops to a glass of drinking water and it increases the pH. They are cheap to purchase and lastr a long time. I recommend giving it a try. When I first did, my energy level and mood increased dramatically. My favorite though, will always be trinity springs. their product is amazing and comes from a mountainous area in idaho, from 2.5 miles deep geothemal well. It is clean from impurites that they are among the only bottled water company who 'bottle at the source'. they don't have to process it from imputities and or anything like make other companies. You can truly tast how ALIVE this 16,000 year old water is. it tastes AMAZING!
here is their link again:

the rule of thumb I have been foloowing for the past few years is 1/2 of my body weight = the amount required in ounces. so for me, that is: 200/2 = 100
oz per day BEFORE exercise, excess sunlight, coffee(bad) soda(worse)
Sugar (yuck) alcohol(no comment) and all of these types of things. heh.
A good way to determine if you are drinking enough is simply looking at the wee. of course certain vitamins and foods can cause increased color, but if you are fully hydrated, it is nearly all clear. almost pure water with a touch of yellow.. very light shade though.
also, your pallete gets dry when you are dehydrated, aches and pains can creep up, low mood and
Depression of couse, headaches..
It's quite easy to tell once you have been drinking enough for awhile (which is A LOT!). Once you are on the program for a while and feel great, then slack off, all of the bodily cues and manifestations become quite obvious.
best of luck. Water is truly the cure all and I am honored to be a part of this thread and help spread the word.
love and light,
