Yep, that's what I was going to suggest ... the "shot" method of drinking the maple. Another idea would be to put maple into your lax or herbal teas. If you're used to sweetening them, it might go down better.
As to water intake - A MUST!! Try following each lemonade drink with the same amount of water, then another glass of H2O right before the next lemonade. (Unless, of course, you take Pepe's good advice and sip throughout the day... then my solution wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. :^)) My first Master-Cleanse I stopped taking in any liquids after about 7:30 p.m. to make sure I could get a full night's sleep. I found that if I drank the lemonade after 7 o'clock the maple wired me and I couldn't get to sleep. The average amount of lemonade I drank everyday was 56 oz. Like Pepe, I made up my batch every morning (to limit kitchen time).
Another good idea is to do some kind of exercise. Walking is good if you're not used to a heavy cardio routine already. Since the body is trying to get rid of the toxins, and you have skin issues, well, opening up those pores and sweating the junk out gives you yet another outlet. Exercise should also spur you on to drink more water. I take a 30 oz. bottle to the gym with me and make sure it's empty before I leave (lately I've been filling it up again at the gym and drinking it all down before I get home!)
