Re: Heidi vs. Religious people

This is for both Rainy and MST.

My use of the word mannerisms had more to do with Tourette's type of tics....odd behavior that shows up in many of these people.

I find nothing wrong with the personalities of either this guy or Heidi. Heidi was very dramatic but I have seen other pastors that seemed over the top as well.

I believe they love the Lord with all their heart...I don't doubt that. No falseness there.

These videos seem to be more personal testimonies more than sermons. Nothing against personal testimonies.
I would not want a full diet of people's testimonies only, but if they also balance it out with biblical teachings...which they may very well do in other videos.

This guy in the video is truly a "faith" guy. I have leanings that way. However, the phrases "faith movement" or "word of faith" have been forever tarnished by abusers who don't really understand having simple faith and how powerful it is.

It would make more sense to me that a calvinist would be a faith person because they believe that God is in full control of everything they do. Every day they step out in faith that God is going to set the path straight ahead for them. To me that is true faith.

However, I realize that is not all that we are talking about here. We are talking about having more faith than the average person is given to be able to do the impossible.

That being said...I think both the calvinist and the pentecostal both walk in faith. A measure of faith is given to each person...however it does not say that a person with a small measure is not a bought by the blood of Jesus, born again christian. And yes I realize that pentecostals have a different understanding of being born again than non-P's.

All we are talking about are gifts given to people by God. Yes, it may be a showy gift, but it's not something to lord over someone with. If someone has great gifts of the Spirit then they should be grateful and go forward.
