The problem is that none of this is funny...it is very serious and the way we handle the problem(which is not being handled)reflects much more about us than it does the evil that has invaded the body of Christ.
The gospel and the sharing of the gospel is very important but living the gospel life still takes a leading by the Holy Spirit. We are not to be just hearers...but doers of the Word.
My objection to how the body of Christ is being thrown to the dogs is that no one wants to see to it that evil stops within it. Yes, I will agree that parents have done a terrible job of presenting the gospel, because they rely too much on someone else to do the work for them. It has to be a life/work in each christian's day. Not just a once a week event.
I posted about the Presbyterian USA, to show what happens when we let falseness creep little by little into the church and we don't do something about it to begin with.
Example: All it takes is for one single pastor who has never married at their age for some strange reason to be accepted into a church and they make the people happy by giving good sermons and seems to really have a knack at bringing people into the church and all of sudden one day, he/she comes out that he/she is gay and you stand up and say that is not biblical and then all those nice people who the pastor had invited to join, stand up and cheer. That's all it takes to take over a church. By the time anyone wakes up to the problem, people who have not shared the same belief as the denomination have gotten themselves into leadership positions and now call the shots.
The question is...what could have been done to prevent something like this from happening? The body of Christ was asleep on this matter because they believed God would not allow it. Why did He allow it? Because the people were opening doors that needed to be shut and they didn't. We can't see it coming if we are living by worldly standards ourselves by not believing what scripture says about evil.
Few have any armor on...they are not prepared for battle. They wait until it's too late in some cases to even pray. They are afraid of speaking out. They just want to go behind closed doors and gossip about it...yet not do anything about it.
Complaining or making fun of the church does not wake people up....it just angers them. One must truly love the church...the body of Christ and minister in a different way.
