You are absolutely correct. LDN is a Super Booster to the Immune System, called a MIRACLE by many. I have done some extensive research on it here.
Links below may not work-go to the source here:
* About LDN: FDA-approved naltrexone, in a low dose, can boost the immune system — helping those with HIV/AIDS, cancer, autoimmune diseases, and central nervous system disorders.
* In May 2006, clinical trial researchers at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine reported: "LDN therapy offers an alternative safe, effective, and economic means of treating subjects with active Crohn's disease."
* Other physicians and researchers have described beneficial effects of LDN on a variety of diseases, including Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Pancreatic Cancer, HIV/AIDS, ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), Autism Spectrum Disorders, Behcet's Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Parkinson's Disease, Psoriasis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus (SLE), and Wegener's Granulomatosis.

Cancers & Other Diseases:
Colon & Rectal Cancer
Lung Cancer (Non-Small Cell)

Lymphoma (Hodgkin’s and Non-Hodgkin’s)
Prostate Cancer (untreated)
Renal Cell Carcinoma
Instructions for cutting it down here:
I know that some fill a 50mL medicine bottle (w/dropper) with distilled water, then dissolve the 50mg Naltrexone Hcl to make LDN. Shake gently each time before taking, and work up to 5 drops. ( 1 mg per drop )
I have not done the dosage calculations lately, but one can make as low a dose as desired with a dropper.
You may suspect that most doctors likely have never heard of LDN.
Dr. Kruse (Digital Surgeon) said he will be talking about LDN in his 1st book, scheduled the end of this year.
Another GREAT way to boost the immune system: See this AMAZING video on how Dr. Terry Wahls cured* herself of Stage 2 Progressive Multiple Sclerosis: She wrote THIS BOOK.
*Note: It may be too soon to call for a cure-she may only be in remission

I do think LDN is worth a try for autoimmune patients. My own results were not that great, although I did feel it lowered my pain a little and allowed me to sleep a great deal better.
However, I have a close friend with MS who tried it (he is a physician and actually prescribed it for me after his results) and he had a dramatic improvement in a couple of his most troublesome symptoms. He was not cured, stays on his prescription meds, and still has issues, but was ecstatic with the results.
