Ephedrine is a pretty strong stimulant. And so is over training. They would be strong contributing factors. But there is likely other factors in your life as well.
Do you startle easy? Do you jump when the phone rings for example. Are you impatient? Do you worry all the time about everything? Did you go through years of feeling like you HAD to being doing something productive and could not just relax and do nothing.
These are signs of your nervous system being stuck in sympathetic dominant mode.
In addition to the symptoms you mentioned, the above are classic signs of being stuck in a state of stress. If you were stuck in a state of stress for years, that is probably the main cause... the ephehdrine and overtraining are just icing on the adrenal fatigue cake.
If you heavy into weight training, you were likely living off of fake food like protein bars and shakes as well. (did that myself for a few years)
