Cars
Say Trapper! Thanks for posting the information about how many new cars are sitting around deteriorating. I went and bought one.
I tried to buy a car a few years ago and the Kia dealership told me my credit was so bad that I would have to come up with $7K cash to over come it.
I said never mind and bought a used Lexus instead. Been driving it for nearly 3 years. It was beginning to need work, and had 250K miles on it.
After seeing your post on the car situation, Trapper, I just decided to take a long shot and see if Toyota could help me out. And they did. They gave me $1000 for a 94 Lexus that had an emissions problem, check engine light, it needed struts, the AC didn't work and it had an electrical problem that the mechanic didn't even want to look for a solution.
Then they knocked $4K off a Corolla that was loaded with everything I wanted in the color I wanted. They didn't require any cash from me. I didn't even have to give them an employment reference or prove my income.
All they required was two personal references and five hours of waiting.
Got a new car with payments I can live with. It had 22 miles on it when I drove it off the car lot.
And I wouldn't have even bothered to try buying one if you hadn't posted the information about new cars sitting around rusting all over the world, because my credit is worse now than it was when I got turned down by Kia.
