Re: Group Outings & Some Surveys
Hahhaha, my family hates when I ask them, too. Haha. My immediate family members cannot smell me. But my distant relatives definitely can. Without a doubt, I know they know that I stink. In the beginning, most could not, but now they all can. What's sad is they know I have been struggling with this for a while and they don't offer any help, they just don't hug me and sit away from me or rub their noses. It's really, really sad that they'd KNOW and still behave this way rather than telling me or helping.
It's interesting that you say the potential reasons why immediate family members don't notice. Part of it, I believe, is they can't smell it. My mother will claim she has a very strong sense of smell and if she smelled me she'd tell me, I believe half of what she says. I know I'm more sensitive.
I have always been fairly sensitive to smells. I remember I hated the way certain people smelled when I was younger, but not that many people were bothered by it. It prevented me from being able to eat my food. But when it comes to my own
Body Odor , it's hit or miss. Nevertheless, I am very sensitive to odor. As an adult, I am less picky about it, but I still notice it.
However, I am not as sensitive as people with chemical sensitivities. I'm sure they have me beat. Haha.
