Manuel810: Chronic Perianal Itching - Parasites & Pinworms

Hi Laurie -

This is in reply to your PM to me.  Am posting this on the forum so that others may offer their suggestions & advice.

You mention chronic itching in the perianal area.  That can be caused by a multitude of things!

If it occurs only at night, then it's probably female pinworms crawling out of the rectum & laying eggs in the perianal area.

If the itching is 24/7, then it might be larva of other helminths (roundworms, tapeworms, flukes) that have migrated to the lower GI tract.

Do you have chronic constipation or hemorrhoids?  Have you tried hemorrhoid ointment to see if it provides any relief?

Have you seen anything unusual in your feces?

Do you have crawling sensations in other areas of your body?

Do you have abdominal pain/discomfort?

You mentioned taking several drugs, but didn't state the dosage & length of treatment time for each.  What are you currently taking?

I noted in your post history that you've had Lymes, Candida, & Blastocystis Hominis.  Anal itching may be a symptom of an active infection.  Have you been retested recently?

If you'd provide more info, perhaps the forum can suggest remedies to solve your condition.

Your PM to me:

"Hi,

I have read several if your posts and wanted to ask about pinworms . I believe this is what I have . I have taken albenza., Reese, pin x , alinia and bilitride and no relief from the itching in the butt. What other medicine do u recommend. I have also taken ivermectin horse paste. Is the human ivermectin better ? What about vermox? Where can I buy that? I live in the us.

Thanks
Laurie"

Cheers - ICU
