Re: Those of you following The Schwarbien Principal Diet
Hi Take Care, thanks for your reply
The Schwarbien diet is very specific, so the carb thing has to be measured out perfectly - I know if I eat too many carbs itll give me a big cortisol surge and leave me hungry but the SP is very much low carb, but not no carb and balanced with the correct amount of protien for your body. Its about healing the system, not neccesarily being 'comfortable' in the process as changes will be taking place.
I had been doing very similar to you, listening to my body but with no major results other than better digestion so I decided to get it perfect. I know Sherpa had some great results following the SP to a tee (once getting the correct balance), but also calories are important, for me, your diet would leave me wasting away! :) (but obviously might be ok for you if your a tiny female) calories are important, too little youll never heal, too many and the extra energy needed to process it defeats the purpose and causes extra strain on the body, this one reason why the 80/10/10 4000+ calorie diets are a bad idea with AF (not to mention the sugar), they are basically like fueling a fire continually without any let up for rest.
Ham is a no no as its cured with sugar, same with leftovers due to their increased histamine levels. I have found the big belly is a cortisol belly due to too many carbs - carbs relate to cortisol, protein relates to adrenaline according the author.
Its definitely worth the read if you are following a diet close to it, it'll take the guess work out of it, written by a proper MD endocrinologist and not an ND charlatan.
Ha ill never be able to make anything, I am useless! nor do I have the inclination, i manage but its just boring :)
