I like the diode idea but based on what I have heard, it won't be necessary.

The wire that is grounded won't pick up the 60Hz

I could be wrong but from what I heard, the earth's electrical potential is MUCH BIGGER than an EM field from say a lamp.

The electrons would flow up the ground rod, through the wire and to your body unimpeded by the 60Hz Tweet
