big lie happening faster
Has anyone else noticed how quickly some things are happening, say, between a news event and some subsequent action?
In February, a local criminal had a run in with a police man and his canine assistant. The man survived his wounds, the dog, after nearly 24hours of play-by-play news updates on emergency surgeries, died......kinda put me to mind a bit of the George-and-squirrel episode of Seinfeld. For a full week there were formal ceremonies culminating with a full, flag-draped casket funeral, and this culminated with newly proposed legislation to further punish criminals who harm canine officers.....I like dogs, really, love them to death, literally, but when I think of people old and young who regularly don't get this level of respect, care and treatment......seems out of whack.
Tonight, for the first time in years, I watched some of 60 minutes, the first 15 minutes, wherein it portrayed problems that, on the one hand, may encourage people to forget about the NSA and its cataloging of personal data on Americans, on the other hand offered no suggestions or recommended solutions while hyping the horrors of internet-based brokers eavesdropping on the exchange of consumer's private / personal information and selling it to......? whatever kind of entities, supposedly marketing types, that are in the biz of buying such intel. By 9:30 PM, the same CBS broadcast a new episode of one of its more successful, relatively recently, platforms for pedaling liberal ideology by way of melodrama;the good wife..... and said episode just happened to be featuring the mayhem that ensues when shadowy, mostly off-stage entities have managed to set up shop with a staff replete with a couple twenty-something geeks able to wire-tap specific targets, at will, on the fly and immediately hand off this ill-gotten private info to well-dressed suits and or skirts in one form or another acting as an extension .... or tool, as it were, of the heavy hand of the law as it currently masquerades in these heady new age new world modern days.....Time to market of art imitating supposed life in this instance less than 2 hours; breathtaking!
