Yes, Brown and White were a perfect example of the civility that can accompany debate. I think there is room for all kinds of variance in the Christian community. Of course there are absolutes, but the secondary issues, both deciding what they are, and being tolerant, while defending your viewpoint is so important. Otherwise we would just make all of Christianity distasteful to seekers, and I'm sure we would also grieve the Lord when we become hateful with each other. Like Vektek was saying, she and her father were talking about the possibility that God purposefully made certain issues unclear, so that we would need to depend on Him for answers. (Vektek, I hope I remembered that right). And I don't doubt that the Holy Spirit will give the answers to each of us somewhat differently depending on His knowing what areas we are meant to learn more about. Each church and different denominations even ones with the same doctrinal beliefs, have a different focus.
