Re: The error of Lordship salvation

The article states: ""Is once saved always saved true?
Or is it only giving false security?
This subject is one that I believe the devil has done much damage. If a person is saved and tormented by guilt and shame, then the devil will accuse them of not being saved. This is used by the enemy to bring much fear, torment and condemnation into a person's life."

I'm thinking to myself while reading...What security? I don't understand this person's ideas on calvinism. For if in calvinism, which is where "once saved always saved" comes from, the belief is that God chooses who is saved and not saved at the very beginning, how can anyone believing this know whether they have been chosen or not? No matter what they do...believe and/or serve God, they may not be chosen. Do they just assume if they believe and go to church or read their bibles it must be a sign that God chose them?

Put aside the fact that they don't believe that they can lose their salvation...they still don't know if they were chosen in the first place. Any personal security issue would come from no assurance that one's own faith is enough to be accepted by God. Because then it is viewed as a "work" to believe, if man has any say in their salvation.

Now that being said, there are those who seem to fret over not fasting enough, or finding the time to bow before God in holiness which comes across as more of a lack of security to me. However I realize for some people it may be their way of repenting of sins that they think they see in their lives.

We can be obedient and worshipful all through out the day with the time God has given us. The Holy Spirit is with us all the time if we are believers. The question many have on their minds or perhaps differ in opinion on is how does one be filled with the Holy Spirit (as in more filled than we already are)
