Ditto here on the salt to water ratio, I always get a dumping tummy reaction (all day long) to a salt concentration being too high! Also, the Iodine protocol guide says to drink it to the point of starting urination, not diarrhea.
Generally I try to dilute solutions that are too salt-heavy, go for the flavor of a good chicken soup in saltiness.

A dark mood can definately have links with an underlying electrolyte or mineral deficiency, several Hg-detoxers (mercury chelation therapy) have noted needing selenium for balancing out an unresasonable crankiness/constantly crabby, depressed mood. (Selenium methionine)

Other indicated electrolytes are as mentioned by GinaGirl are potassium, magnesium...

You might wanna look into Selenium, as it helps keep up the glutathione cycle, especially while you're detoxing.
