Re: Xelaetaks: Detecting Parasites in Blood Tests

Thanks. Interesting. For some reason posts werent going through before. Anyway, that could explain why eosinophilia isn't showing much in blood tests.

Travel doctor here who says he sees tons of patients with flukes and parasites said he didn't see evidence of flukes in me since the liver ultrasound looked fine and schistomasis blood tests came back negative but I don't think that covers intestinal fluke.

Also it looks like people in the U.S. (And possibly other countries) might be getting get different species than people who go traveling overseas as doctors here in many cases seem to be confused by them. Anyway the doctor recommended a gasteroentologist that is also a parasitologist. The travel doctor also said based on my symptoms he thinks it is more related to smaller intestine than the bigger one.

Looks like the gasteroentologist does endoscopies and has also written tropical medicine books apparently. So that could be one option as well as pursuing protocol and seeing what happens.
