On my way to a better lifestyle

I want to start off by giving everyone a little information about myself.. I am 22, male, and my life has been riddled with health problems. Just 2 months ago, I was 248 pounds (lets just round that off to 250). I grew up with chronic constipation as a child. I wouldn't be able to use the restroom for maybe 1, sometimes 2 months at a time.. I was in and out of the hospital for years. It continued for some time until I was put on a very strict diet by a specialist. I was finally able to be normal.

Then around the age of 13, I was diagnosed with severe double depression. I was put on anti-depressants for years and rapidly gained weight because of the medicine. I refused to keep taking them but over the years, through lack of exercise and poor food choices, I hit my heaviest yet; 250 pounds.. I am only 5'5". And having been born clubfooted, muscle was removed from my ankle as a toddler to allow me to walk. The weight quickly became a problem for my feet, as they just couldn't take it. I experienced severe pain in my legs and eventually knees.

I also had problems sleeping. I would wake up in the middle of the night; my back in excruciating pain. I eventually developed more stomach problems and was diagnosed with severe IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). I was in constant pain and would wake up because of my stomach hurting every morning.

This lead to me becoming even more depressed. I felt my family didn't care, and I didn't have any friends to even seek support from. I blamed it all on my weight.. I was so desperate for change.

I discovered this forum one day while searching how dangerous it was to abstain from food.. I read about how it works, as well as the stages that I would go through during the water fast. I decided to give it a try. I attempted it some time back in November. I didn't get that far.. I ate at Thanksgiving and Christmas and cheated in between. I lost maybe a few pounds. I finally started it officially, more determined, on the 11th of December. I got through the first few days and on the third, I experienced pain like I never have before. My legs hurt all day and night and some of the next day. I made it through a few days after and it started to get easier until I ate again.. And got really sick.

On New Years, I decided it was time to really change.. It was my New Years Resolution to lose the weight and better myself as a person. I didn't have a scale so I didn't bother tracking my weight up until this point. I got a scale, and on January 1st, I had my first weigh-in. 229. I couldn't believe it. I had lost 20 pounds in not even a month.

Below is my daily weight log and notes. I recorded my weight daily for those wondering what the weight loss looks like. Granted, there was still meals some days, I also wrote down whether I ate or not.. I weighed myself every morning before drinking any water and after using the restroom.

Around day 17 I discovered I have an ulcer. I experience severe upper abdominal pain when attempting to go without food for longer than 5 days.

I will continue this to day 31 with updated weights, but I am astonished I have lost 30 pounds this month, even while having cheated several times. I have lost a total of 50 pounds since the 11th of December and have gone from a size 42 pants to a size 38. From 2XL shirts, to XL, soon to be large.

My health problems have all disappeared. I am no longer depressed, my severe IBS has vanished, my asthma that I had since a child is now gone, and my feet and knees no longer hurt. I feel like I have been renewed. I am so much happier now than I was and I want to thank everyone for the support they gave others on this forum. It helps even those you didn't expect. By day 31, i suspect to be below 200 pounds finally..

I wanted to share this experience with everyone that visits this forum so that they may gain strength and motivation from my success.

If anyone has any questions, please, do not hesitate to ask.

Also, this is my first post, so if this is in the wrong section, I apologize. It's almost 12am and I am slightly sleep deprived.
