Re: Only Some Pastors are AWESOME!

Here it is Rainy, there was a lot of learning after this experience, but here is how it all started.

This was for me the ultimate NDE but spiritual not physical.I don't think many here believe that Jesus died to pay for our sins. I do

I didn't grow up going to church. My parents believed in God, but nothing traditional. She went to something called "the studies" when I was little. I don't know much about it, but that one man ran it and a core belief was that noth ing was sin unless you believed it was. My mom and dad left that group deciding they were wrong. When I was about 5 I used to float out of my body and float around my ceiling. It would happen if I relaxed too much. It scared me, so it stopped eventually. I later learned it was astral projection. So, I always knew the spirit was able to be without the body. Anyway, my parents divorced and my mom remarried and we moved to Missouri from Houston. My mom became interested in Fate magazine (UFO's etc.), Automatic writing (this is how she found out my grandmother had died), and a set of books.I think they were called The Masters of the Far East". She liked to go to psychics. I was scared to go but loved to hear about what they said.

After high school I moved back to Houston. I worked for one of my sisters for a while, then I got a job at an oil company. My other sister's best friend got me the job. I loved it. I had my own huge office with beautiful furniture and floor to ceiling glass walls to the see out side. Lanette and I took 2 hour lunches often. A man that worked there talked to me a few times about how he was a Christian. He was a funny man. I liked him and enjoyed his talks about his beliefs.

One night I went to sleep as usual and had an experience that stayed with me the rest of my life. It was short. I was aware of lying in bed and being asleep. Then a darkness began closing in on me. It came from far away and very quickly was surrounding me. I knew it was going to destroy me. In it was evil and a darker darkness than I knew existed. I was terrified. I have no idea from what depths I reached to come up with this, but I called out "Jesus!" No sooner than I said it, a bright light burst forth from my solar plexus area beaming in every direction and overcame the darkness instantly. I was saved from destruction that night by calling on the name of Jesus.

I woke up after that. Calling on the name of Jesus literally saved me. Even the ability to call His name was a gift because I wasn't familiar enough with Him to know to call out His name. That He came from inside me comforts me now. He is always with me.

Because the experience was so powerful, it has never faded like a dream does. That makes one certain belief in my life. Jesus does save, He isn't just a teacher to me, altough He is that too. Does anyone else here believe that Jesus saved them from destruction? (I was asking that question to people in another forum who mostly were not Christian)--oh, and my mom became a Christian too (:
