One of the paradoxical reactions I think I understand is Zinc. If zinc makes you feel lousy, it might be because it is bringing a bunch of copper out of storage.
Zinc is supposed to be calming and reduce cortisol and stress.
However, if you get increased insomnia, anxiety from taking zinc .... it could be due to copper being mobilized.
This is a good book to understand the connection of stress and adrenal fatigue to storage of copper.
If you read through my old posts from a couple of years ago, I felt horrible when I started taking zinc. My liver could not handle all the copper coming out. My bowel movements were white, severe psoriosis, no sleep.
