Ozone is natures gift without it we would be choking on our own pollution. It is the freshness in the air after a thunderstorm from lightning splitting singlet oxygen forming O3. The wave action at the beach does similiar creating the freshened breeze. Ultra violet light from the sun creates ozone in our upper atmosphere to scrub the entire planet and protect us from UV radiation.
