Lesson learned from Ted Cruz

“Generally speaking, under the Citizenship Act of 1947, those born in Canada were automatically citizens at birth unless their parent was a foreign diplomat,” said ministry spokeswoman Julie Lafortune.

I was born in Ottawa, Canada of a US Naturalized citizen mother from Germany and a US father as a military brat in 1953. I always heard that I would be given the choice at 18 to DE CLARE which citizenship to chose and assuming because I did nothing by default I became a US citizen but apparently not so, I can still claim Canadian citizenship. Maybe this is why a federal firearms check takes so long and The IRS doesn't force me to make voluntary payments like the rest of the uninformed volunteers?
Kind of reminds me of all the passes afforded our southern river jumpers.
