I agree Sherpa. It is hard. You have to be very mindful of your emotions at all times.

Larry Wilson notes that AF people seek out adrenaline rushes since it makes us feel better.

Also...when the lizard brain dominates, it is more motivated by impulse, so it is hard to resist urges.

I know that when I am under stress...it often triggers a p 0 r n relapse.

The book "The WillPower Instinct" explains this very well...and explains why meditation helps. It increases mindfulness and increases activity of the pre-frontal cortex.

Mindfulness meditation is a huge help. Takes a while for the benefits to accumulate. But after a couple of years, I find I can notice when I am getting swept up in emotions almost immediately.
