To comfort you; I took 4-800 mcgs of selenium for some months early on, a combination of selenium methionine and brazil nuts. This with "only" 70-100 mg of iodine. No bad effect I know of; a symptom like hair loss can be the first sign of too much selenium.
Always check your own symptoms before info from anyone on the internet:) well thats my rule anyway.. Remember we are low in European soil, much more than in the US.
But a combination sounds good; try, and report back.
Alternatively add sulfur, methionine (sulfur based amino acid) from other sources, from food or supplements. I had great benefit of sulfur, and take just a little selenium now; like 400-500 mcg a week, maximum.
