Recently I tried taking vitamin C to bowel tolerance level to see if it would help with my Candida/ parasite issue. They say that the more sick you are, or the more vitamin c you need, the more you can take before you hit bowel tolerance. The usual amount is around 15g a day. I found I could take in excess of 50g a day and I never hit bowel tolerance, and I'm wondering if this is because my Ascaris were stealing it.
It didn't really help much, although I did feel a bit brighter and healthier and it eased some symptoms, but no dramatic health improvements. I then came across a study (which I can't put my hands on right now) which showed that vitamin c actually strengthens helminths (roundworms in particular I think), and that albendazole administered at the same time as vitamin c was less effective than albendazole administered on it's own.
For me it definitely made the worms more active that's for sure. Has anyone else had any experiences with vitamin C?
