I gotta say this....
You cannot eat on a fast for it to work in the ways that folks like Cousens and Bragg speak so highly of. You can't eat anything!! Not pineapple, not almonds, nothing!! I'm not here to judge, but I feel SO saddened that SO many are shortchanged in the fasting department becasue we can't just say what the TRUTH is. Fasting means NOT EATING ANYTHING!! You eat some pineapple, and you aren't 100% cleaned out (who is?) you just put the biological process of autolyisis off by a good 2 or 3 days. Take a bite here or there every few days, and yeah, your helping to reduce the workload on your body, but you ARE NOT FASTING, you're just eatng VERY light. I try to help people with their fasting, and I always hear, "I did a 10 day fast and felt like crap, saw no results, ect" only to find out that they had a handful of chips on day 2, some grapes on day 5, and had some cashews on day 9. I just wanna scream, "YOU DID NOT FAST FOR 10 DAYS!!!!" You fasted for 2, 3, and 4 days, and out of that 10, you maybe, maybe, spent 36 or so hours in autolyisis. Fast cells CANNOT be detroyed, only shrunk once aquired, EXCEPT through autolyisis. So please take heart in this, and remember that your body cares more about cleaning out the lungs, brain, ect, than it does getting rid of fat that could theorehtically save you during a tme of starvation.
Sorry for the rant (and the spelling), I just believe very deeply in this.
