Well first I have to say that I'm not sure if I'm actually cured. I do know that I feel a lot better lately and to be honest attribute it to the rapid eye therapy as well as my traditional therapy. To answer your question though, I think it depends on your school of thought. I believe whole heartedly that Depression is the result of suppressed emotions that are stuck in the sub-conscious. Since your trained in the field, you probably allready know this, but emotions from childhood that were attached to a trauma become burried in the subconscious, mainly because they were too painful and the child (you) didn't know how to process them (what child does?). And the ego has a wonderful defense system in place to protect you from pain. The problem is that eventually for some of us, these defense systems begin to break down and we begin to experience the pain. So processing these experiences and making the connections releases these stored emotions. The more layers you peel, the better you feel. Really, its just energy and energy can't stay still, it needs to go somewhere. So for me, I'm a big believer, in therapy. But I'm also a big believer in spirituality and I think we should use whatever healing resources we have. Anyway, I really hope you look into the Rapid Eye!
