I'm not sure I agree with you entirely. It seems genetic markers can reliably predict some breast cancers. If I was in Angelina Jolie's position where my mother died of Breast Cancer and doctor's say I have an 87% chance of getting the disease I wouldn't say she was hasty in making the decision for breast removals and reconstructive surgeries, especially since she could easily pay for it. IMHO, alternative treatment strategies work best were the underlying cause is predominately environmental in nature ... not genetic. Yet of course Ms. Jolie should have explored ALL options, alternative and conventional, when her mother got breast cancer. Research/knowledge is always your best friend.

Having said all this, a man (like myself) should be gentle in discussing in how a woman treats her breasts. :)
