What's been odd, is for the past 1.5 years, I've been waking ( and not all the time) between 2:30-4:30 or 5 every night feeling hot and with anxiety.
The anxiety wanes off and on the rest of the night even if I do sleep some more, but still have it in my dreams.
I don't know for sure, but don't think it is related to hot flashes. I had these years ago and than it was night sweats where my body would be do damp. No sweats or dampness now. Plus, I've been on hormont replacement therapy since my total hysterectomy and had done wonderfully on it.
My doctor thinks it could be related to the cortisol, as it usually kicks into gear around 4-4:30 am to build up for that morning peak, and myAM AM reserve is very low, so it is signaling my HTP-axis, saying to my adrenals, hey we need some cortisol here. Just a therapy. Does sound logicl. But, don't know for sure.
Also, I was wondering, doesn't the body do al it's repair work during sleep too? Especially the liver. SO wonder, if this is putting the damper on my sleep.
I do take L-Tryptophan and Tart Cherry Extract and sometimes Magnesium and Thaurine to help before bed and it works sometimes, but not all the time.
