Finally, a dermatologist who speaks more in scientific terms!
Does anyone notice fluid in their lips (serous discharge)? I do not seem to have fluid in my lips. The Desonide ointment made my lips normal size. I only used it a couple days since it is not good to use long term. So, I guess this means I do not actually have big lips?
When I first started out with EC, my lips did have a yellowish orange color to them like serous fluid may be. Serous fluid contains amylase. I have a high level of amylase in blood. Anyone else?
JSL, Can you ask him what the growth factors are in the inflammatory chemicals coming from serous discharge? Could it be fibroblast growth factor? Yes, we need it to heal a wound, but not in excess It is interesting that Mebo is used for scars. Scar ointments generally affect fibroblasts. You can tell him silicone scar strips have helped my lips the most, but they have to be applied every day.
Currently, I am using hydrogel to heal a wound other than on my lips. I am using it to decrease scar formation. I was wondering if I should apply the hydrogel to my lips, but I get flakes of ointment where I apply it. So, I figure it will make my lips look flaky. The Solosite gel is a hydrogel. I wonder if it matters which hydrogel you use.
Blood tests results did show a zinc deficiency. Zinc supplements have not improved my lips, but I take a low dosage. You are not supposed to take a high dosage of zinc. Instead, you could try eating lots of foods with zinc in them.
