Re: Home remedy for cysts/abscesses

Hello! I have had a reoccurring bartholins cyst for nearly a year now. My first cyst was around June of last summer, the doctor visit was a fiasco! After being unable to get into my gyno for two weeks I gave in as the cyst was about the size of a golf ball, and made an appointment with a regular doc. The doctor gave me the numbing shots so he could lance and drain the cyst. (The shots! WOW! Wasn't ready for that pain!). But after the shots the doc got cold feet, and said he was unable to do the procedure, and didn't charge me for the visit. Anyone who has under gone the procedure would tell you the shots are awful! I was pissed! Luckily a day after the visit the cyst drained and went down on its own. (Guess he aimed well!)
About six months later it came back, this time I was able to get into my gyno with in a few days.. She lanced and drained the cyst, it was a complete horror show! It felt better for a few days, but by the next week it had returned, more painful and swollen than ever before. It burst, right before my second appointment but I went in and she was pushing for me to have the gland removed.. But they claimed my insurance wouldn't cover it unless they tried the catheter (why didn't they place when the first time?! NO CLUE!). That day she only lanced it again, and drained it for the second time in about 7-8 days. (She didn't feel confident in placing the catheter). The very next day I went to another gyno, who again lanced it and was supposed to insert the catheter.. But didn't. Yeah. I know. What the crap right?!
She claimed it was healing up, and it didn't need it.. Luckily it did go away with in the week. After being cut open, squeezed, and poked three times in the span of maybe 9 days I was SO HAPPY! But scarred needless to say!
Then it came back, one week ago today. I was horrified! After the last events all I could think about was needles and doctor bills! I cried like a baby!
But I sucked it up, said a little prayer, and I searched. That's when I found this thread! It came back last Saturday, and I first tried your calamine lotion/witchhazel/tea tree oil concoction on Wednesday. I repeated the process Thursdays, and Friday. I've also been doing sitz baths three times a day since the first day I felt it. My appointment to have it drained is next Tuesday... BUT! After three days of your remedy it drained today!!!! YAY! I am so relieved it worked! No shots! No cutting! No bills! Not only did it get this thing to drain, but it was soothing and helped with pain a long the way.. I am so greatful you made this thread! I hope this thing is gone for good! THANK YOU! And good luck to anyone who is suffering from these awful things! Fingers crossed!
