Dear Dr. Jeff,

Re: the Blood Sugar Protocol, you mention that it's important to have protein with every meal. Can that protein be a plant protein (e.g., a cup of lentils with 1/2 cup brown rice)?

Also, is there a difference between "virgin" coconut oil and just plain coconut oil? There's a product I'd like to incorporate into my diet, but I'm not sure if it's a refined product or not. It's called LouAna pure coconut oil:
