Re: tropical disease clinics in Tijuana or Mexicali?
Is that Dr. Yu in St. Louis? I have his book. I have been wondering about making a trip to see him. If in fact it is him. I called but dont know how effective the bio energetic treatment or Acupucture meridian assestment is.
I have gone to tijuana a couple of times to try to get treatment.
The Hospital Angeles is where I went. I believe they do accept insurance (which I really don't have) but their prices are closer to american prices than I expected. Although, I didn't have a problem seeing anyone just showing up and paying $75 dollars to do it. The infectious disease doctor there that I saw was top notch. He didn't discredit you, think you were crazy. Their regard for patients is excellent. They certainly try to make you better!!!
I asked for a price quote for what certain procedures would cost if I wanted them done.
CT abdomen w/ contrast.. $567.00
CT abdomen w/o contrast... $469.00
Ultrasound abdomen $162.00
CT head w/ contrast $282.00
CT head w/o contrast $214.00
Then got a requisition for blood work there. Liver panel, tsh, t4, testosterone, cmp, stool test, urine test and some other tests.. It came out to $400 dollars. To be fair the testosterone panel cost half the price.
I asked where there was a different lab to try. Cetrus is one of the common labs and they charged $80 dollars for the same tests.
The Tijuana General in zona rio required a referal from a doctor to get treatment there. I couldn't get checked for anything there. But, I feel it would have been reasonable.
just some fyi..
