Re: Natural Carpet Cleaning/EDIT
If you don't mind, I'm going to add some things to what MH has said. Here's my experience with inside carpet. Inside carpet has been a source of disease for me. Shag carpet is TERRIBLE! If you clean it with very hot water, then you have to make sure you have a fan(s) going on it and it dries out as quickly as possible (oregano oil or no oregano oil), otherwise it's a source of fungus and mold that can make you sick. I replaced my carpet with linoleum and PERGO from a cut-rate store, (no blemishes or anything wrong with the material) or you can possibly go somewhere where they have "remnants" that are sold for much less than what's on the complete, big rolls. Or it could be discontinued stock with plenty left that would do the job you want to do.
I consider putting my health first--not style and the latest design in carpeting or fad. It's worth saving up for.
I don't know about where you live, but where I live they do NOT generally replace carpet for a new renter. MH is right. How do you know what dirt came from the former renter? Best thing to do is take your shoes off at the door and put on some slippers or shoes designated for wearing in the house, only. If people only knew what they bring in on their shoes from just about anywhere, they'd make this a practice.
EDIT: Another possibility is that you might have a place near your area where construction people who build new houses donate what they have left of materials that you can get for a much reduced cost. Chek out all your possibilites Hope these suggestions help.
