Candida is not bacteria, it's fungus.

And just because a number of people have or have had Candida infections, there is no proof that EC is caused by it. Swabs from my lips showed Candida. I then used antifungal medications for some time, and after that, there was absolutely no Candida left. I also had a bacterial infection on my lips, and after a course of Antibiotics , that bacteria was gone as well. And the EC is still as it was before.

The skin of EC lips is obviously very prone to getting secondary infections, just like peoples neurodermatitis skin is often prone to secondary infections. But those infections don't cause their neurodermatitis. And this could very well be true for EC.
