I'm eight days free of caffine right now. I'm a coffee lover. Organic, espresso, mexican light roasts, french press in the house, favorite mugs, yada yada yada. I live in a cold climate so I really dig that warm cup in the morning or late afternoon when the sun goes down. But I've just traded it in for Yogi (Safeway, health food stores) detox tea with honey. I weaned down for two weeks, trying to space out the time between having it. I basically waited until the headaches got to be too much and then gave in. It may have taken longer overall (3 weeks) to get clean, but those headaches...Yeesh. And when I did drink it, I sipped until the headache was gone and NO more. Which was easy because it wasn't tasting as good compared to my detox and other teas. As much as I love it, coffee isn't good for a person. There may be "good" things in it, but overall, I'm afraid that it's a borderline poison to our system. Just don't be afraid to wean down and don't beat yourself up if you drink some when your head hurts or you "gotta" have it. The path is the goal : )
