Re: Bulky Body Builders
I think body weight athletes have healthier muscles, if they eat a healthy diet. A gymnast, for example. Not a football player. Some weight lifting can be included as long as it isn't excessive, but no violence like slamming into each other. If you can do things like a handstand press, squats, pushups, pullups, etc. that is great, you wouldn't have KING KONG muscles although they might be plenty big. The diet being key. I agree with another poster that muscles themselves are somewhat neutral. It is how they are built and what you are eating.
Also we know that excessive exercise stresses the body and is actually injuring it. So while moderate exercise is building up the body and beneficial, if you go beyond a threshold you are tearing it down again through overuse.
Think of those life extensioners - their whole principle is to eat less, lower the metabolism. That's how they think you can live longer. Goes against the whole eat 1,000 grams of protein a day, bench press a car, etc. A lot of these things are just theories, but I just don't see how having your whole body be scar tissue and protein powder could be a good thing!
