First of all, for the people who are railing on the medical industry... and I agree they are greedy pigs and all that line of thinking... but Nystatin powder is not a drug. It is a fungus (or mold) that kills other yeasts, molds, and fungi. It is found or grown in the earth. It is quite natural. A few years after penicillin was discovered during WWII, this fungus (or mold) was found to benefit those suffering from the after effects of Antibiotic use (the symptoms we're all so familiar with here). But a pharmaceutical company was able to patent it and made it by Rx only and thus cornered the market for $$, which is a real shame (sham).
I've been using Nystatin on and off for about 15 years, depending on if I have a flare up due to lowered immune system.
As far as dosage: My naturpath/M.D./holistic practitioner says to use 1/16 to 1/8 teaspoon three times a day. If you use more than that at one time you probably will get sick to your stomach, especially in the beginning. It's best to start slow. I've even used less than 1/16 teaspoon (I put a little on a quarter teaspoon). Sometimes I use it 4 times a day, but very little.
Drink tons of water every day but not so much that it washes out your digestive enzymes when you eat.
Keep up with your candida diet. Nystatin is not a substitute. It's a wonderful adjunct to your candida protocol, whatever it is you're doing.
My Nystatin is from Paddoc also. The label says "10 Nystatin Powder 6.2MU/GM PWD" I don't remember what this means. I used to know. I will call the pharmacy and ask.
