Re: Dr.Lam's mistakes.

Large amounts of easy to process Sugar are hard on anyone in any level of health. A substantial rise in blood Sugar comes with a substantial rise in insulin, which is hard on the body. And when the Sugar you ate plus more is aggressively stowed in cells by lots of insulin you end up low blood sugar, and you end up needing cortisol to raise your blood sugar again. Spiking is hard on the body.

Frequent, small meals, with gentle blood-sugar-raising curves (fats and protein, complex carbs) should be the best way to maintain a usable blood sugar level.

My fasting glucose was generally low. Low blood sugar is bad. I bet licorice has helped (promoting cortisol efficacy as it does).

Calorie restriction is scientifically correlated with longevity. But what exactly is the mechanism and is there some other way than having an uncomfortable calorie limit? And there are a number of other ways to foster longevity.

Dairy products are certainly bad for the lactose intolerant. Also, the Food Over Knives documentary points to scientific studies which shows pretty clearly that when you get to the 5%-10% range of your protein coming from dairy sources that your rates of cancer start to rocket upwards.

Saturated fats come in a number of forms. Some are certainly bad for you. Others ... maybe not? Coconut oil's mostly saturated fat, but that saturated fat is mostly lauric acid. Lauric acid is a medium chain fatty acid that actually raises HDL cholesterol. Fancy that.
